B.GIRL BOOK CLUB

Start Your B.Girl Butterfly Book Club!

Lots of girls like to read!  Starting a book club for girls can be a fun and interesting way to encourage a love for reading and an appreciation for writing.  It can also help girls engage on content in discussion and learn to converse more productively with others.  Best of all, it can create lasting friendships!

Here are some tips on how to get started

  1. Invite girls to join the book club

  2. Have the girls choose the books they would like to read.  Below are books curated by the B.Girl Butterfly Project to help get you started!

  3. Be sure to have girls talk to their parents about the books they select.

  4. Determine where you will meet.  In this day and age, meeting online is a great option.  You can use Google and Zoom for free online meetings!

  5. Decide how often you would like to meet.  Be realistic in your expectations about how long it will take for the group to read a book.

  6. Think about how members will access the books.  Will they need to purchase them?

  7. Set up the discussion.  (Check out this resource on How to Discuss Books)
